RERA MP - Not registered the project with RERA, Not eligible for property registration

The Madhya Pradesh government has given clear instructions to the local stamp and registrar directing them not to entertain those real estate developers who don’t provide the Madhya Pradesh RERA registration number while applying for property registration with the registrar.

This move by the government has created a state of confusion amongst property developers as the government given an open window for RERA registration till 31st July 2017, says a reputed developer from Bhopal.

As per section 3(1) of the Madhya Pradesh Real Estate (Regulation & development) Act (RERA), a developer cannot advertise or sell the real estate units without RERA registration . In the case of violation of rules, the developer may attract fine up to 10% of the project cost or jail term up to 3 years or both.

The Madhya Pradesh government notified the MP - RERA on May 1st, 2017 and appointed Anthony de Sa as the chairman, Dinesh Kumar Naik & Aniruddh D Kapaley as the members of MP RERA, Chandrashekar Walimbe as the Secretary and Pradeep Jain as the Chief Administrative Officer.
