Taking a step forward to implement the RERA across the country, the Central Government has sent a directive to the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Maha RERA) to regulate the realty sector of Dadar Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. The Central government has given this additional charge to the Maha RERA regulator after noticing its performance till now.
There are about 800 on-going projects in these two UTs which will come under the ambit of the RERA. The Maha RERA will soon finalize the RERA offices for these union territories, said a source from Maharashtra RERA.
As per RERA experts, the government is doing its best to implement RERA PAN India and this decision is a part of that.
Maharashtra was the first state to notify RERA and launch the official portal for RERA registration . So, far it is the only state which has penalized a defaulter and incorporated the rules flawlessly.
