Citing the necessity to register the projects with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, real estate developers in Gujarat has urged the state government to allow an extension of 3 more months to register with the RERA.
According to real estate developers in Ahmedabad, they are facing difficulties in complying with the law due to the lack of planned infrastructure by the state government to implement the RERA. They also alleged the state government of delay in providing an online platform for RERA registration.
States including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan tops the list of RERA implementation. These states have launched their respective website for the RERA and have started the registration of real estate projects and agents.
The RERA mandates all real estate developers to register their projects for which they have not got the completion certificate and real estate agents to register themselves before the implementation of the Act in their respective states.
The Central government implemented the Real Estate (Regulation & development) Act (RERA) on 1st May 2016. This Act aims at promoting unambiguous ways of doing business and infusing transparency in the real estate sector.
