According to the organisation structure of MahaRERA , the Chairman will head the Secretary and members of the RERA.
The Central government implemented The Real Estate (Regulation & development) Act on 1st May 2016 and all states were asked to notify the real estate act and set up the RERA tribunal by 1st May 2017. As of now, 13 states have notified the RERA rules and states such as Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh have developed a website for their respective RERA authority.
The RERA mandates all developers to provide their project details on the RERA website, deposit 70% of the fund received from consumers in an escrow account and take the liability for any structural defects. It also mandates the real estate agents to register themselves with the RERA without which they cannot do the real estate business.
