The Karnataka government launched the website for Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority yesterday. The state government notified the Real Estate (Regulation & development) Act, Karnataka RERA on 10th July 2017.
According to Kapil Mohan , Principal Secretary, Home Department the registration of the real estate projects and agents will start from today. The realtors have to upload the documents on the Karnataka RERA website, and once done the authority will take the process further. During the processing period, the registration will be considered as temporary registration the authority may revoke the registration if it finds any flaw in the documents . The portal also facilitates online complaint registration.
The home buyers appreciated this move by the state government. “The government may have delayed the launch of RERA website, but I hope there will be no more darkness for buyers”, said Ashok Tiwari, a home buyer. Property buyers in the entire Karnataka have lots of hope from the government and we think the government will safeguard their interest, he added.
According to a real estate developer in Bengaluru, the online portal will save a lot of time and will ease the process of registration. I also hope that the government will extend the time for project registration and will provide the necessary assistance to the realtors.
