Facing allegations from the public for the delay in implementing RERA in the state, the Haryana Town and Country Planning (TCP) department said that the government is planning to notify the Haryana Real Estate (Regulation & development) Act by July end. The Haryana government has already prepared the Haryana RERA draft rules but failed in notifying the same by 1st May 2017.
The RERA is a ray of hope for those property buyers who have not got the possession of their dream home and are suffering due to the fault of real estate developers. The Act will cover real estate projects for which the developers have not got the completion certificate. The buyers have also alleged the government for drafting the rules in favour of developers.
According to Arun Kumar Gupta, the financial commissioner, TCP Haryana, the housing department is examining the suggestions received by the stakeholders. The government will notify an Act that will help in the development of state's real estate sector without hurting the sentiments of buyers and realtors.
A few months ago, Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh , Minister of state housing wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar, where he showcased his concerns over the diluted RERA rules that have kept most of the projects out of the radar of the Act. The letter also stated that the Central government would challenge any subordination of the rules that would work against the interest of the buyers.
The Real Estate (Regulation & development) Act , 2016 mandates all the developers to register their projects for which they have not received the completion certificate on or before 1st May 2017.
